How to Transfer Airtime on Airtel

It’s now easy to transfer airtime from Airtel to Airtel and from Airtel to any other networks in Nigeria without no extra charges or stress and that’s one good thing about the Airtel network. They try as much as possible to always make their network flexible and wide. It’s only on Airtel you can borrow airtime without service charge.

Unlike other Nigerian networks, Airtel ME2U allows you to transfer airtime from Airtel to Airtel and other networks in Nigeria.

Transferring of airtime from Airtel can be done in three different ways,

• By SMS
• By USSD code and
• By Airtel SIM Toolkit

But first, you need to change the default PIN.

How to Change Airtel ME2U default PIN

Before you start using ME2U service, it’s required that you change the default PIN.

To change ME2U default PIN on Airtel,

1. Dial *432#
2. Then reply with 3 to change your PIN
3. Enter your current PIN (1234)
4. Then enter the new PIN
5. Confirm the new PIN
6. You’ll get an SMS telling you that you’ve successfully changed your ME2U PIN.

Or to change ME2U default PIN via SMS, Sms PIN-default pin- new pin e.g (PIN 1234 9892) and send it to 432 or 151.  

Now that you have successfully changed your PIN, you can now proceed to the next step.

How to Transfer Airtime on Airtel using USSD code.

1. Open your phone dialer
2. Dial *432# on your Airtel line
3. On the next screen, select 1 to transfer airtime on Airtel to Airtel.
4. Enter the amount of airtime to transfer
5. Enter the recipient’s Airtel number
6. Enter your PIN and send.

*432# is the airtel transfer code for sending airtime from your airtel line to another airtel number.

How to Transfer Airtime on Airtel using SMS

1. Open your messaging app
2. Type 2U {recipient’s number} {amount} {password}  e.g 2U 08028925412 500 9892
3. Send to 151
4. After sending, you’ll be notified that you’ve successfully transferred airtime to the recipient and the recipient will certainly receive it.

How to Transfer Airtime on Airtel via SIM Toolkit

1. Open all apps on your phone
2. Navigate to SIM Toolkit (the name might differ on other devices) and open it
3. You’ll find ME2U there, Click it
4. You’ll find two options, one to send Airtime and the other to change password.
5. Choose to send Airtime
6. Enter the amount and password
7. Click Ok.

How to Transfer Airtime on Airtel to Other Networks

• Open phone dialer
• Dial *432# on your Airtel line
• Select 2 to transfer airtime on Airtel to other networks
• Enter amount that you want to transfer
• On the next screen, enter recipient’s number (other networks)
• Enter PIN and send
