Banking has become very interesting these days, with the use of USSD codes and mobile apps, you can now transfer funds from your bank account with your mobile phone.

Some years back, when you needed to send or transfer money to someone, you would have to go to the bank to pay it into the person’s account or you must be operating a current account to be able to issue a check but due to development in technology, Today, you can now transfer money even on your mobile phone by just dialling a bank USSD transfer code on your registered phone number… network operators won’t deduct any extra charges for using the USSD bank transfer method of banking.

Whether you operate a current account or a savings account, everyone can make use of their prospective bank transfer codes.

Access Bank Transfer code

The transfer code for Access Bank is *901#. It can be used to transfer money and purchase airtime from your bank account. To transfer money dial (*901*1*amount*recipient’s account number#) e.g. *901*1*15000*123456890#.

It’s fast, easy and reliable.

Citibank Transfer code

Citibank is not widely known and used in Nigeria. It has just 12 branches in Nigeria. Currently, the bank doesn’t have a USSD transfer code.

Diamond (Access) Bank Transfer Code

Diamond Bank was among the first banks in Nigeria to bring about the Mobile banking USSD code in collaboration with MTN. You can even open an account with Diamond Bank by just dialling *710# on MTN. 

To transfer money on Diamond Bank, just dial *426#.

Ecobank Transfer code

The mobile banking USSD code to transfer money on Ecobank is *326#. If don’t have an account with Ecobank before, you can open an account by dialling *326# and even request a loan.

Fidelity Bank Transfer code

Fidelity Bank mobile banking USSD code is *770#. To transfer money simply dial *770# and follow the instructions on the screen.

First Bank Transfer code

When it comes to e-banking, First Bank offers quality services. The mobile banking USSD code for First Bank is *894#.

To transfer money from First Bank, dial *894# on your registered phone number, a screen will appear then click 1 for quick banking, then click 1 again to transfer money. 

You can also pay bills, purchase airtime and manage accounts.

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Transfer code

FCMB’s USSD mobile banking code is *329#. They have only a few branches in Nigeria and to use the USSD code, you need to visit any FCMB branch or call their customer care line (+234-1-279-8800) to get your PIN.

  • Dial *329*amount*mobile number# to top-up other mobile numbers
  • Dial *329*amount*account number# to transfer funds.

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) Transfer code

Guaranty Trust Bank is the leading bank in terms of e-banking. GTBank USSD mobile banking code is *737#. The USSD is well known by even non-operators of GTBank.

To transfer funds, Dial *737*1*Amount*NUBAN Account Number# (e.g. *737*1*1000*1234567890#) from the phone number you registered with GTBank, then follow the on-screen prompts.

To open a GTBank account, dial *737*0#.

The mobile USSD code for Heritage Bank is *322#. To transfer funds from Heritage Bank, dial *322#.

Dial *322# and follow the instructions on the screen.

Jaiz Bank Transfer code

At the moment, you can only top up your mobile number. *389*301*Amount# is the code to top up your mobile number from your Jaiz bank account e.g. Top-up your phone with N2,000, all you need to do is dial *389*301*2000# on your registered phone number.

Keystone Bank Transfer code

Keystone Bank’s USSD transfer code is *7111#. To transfer money to a Keystone bank and to another bank account, dial *7111*Amount*Account No# and follow the instructions on the screen.

Polaris Bank Transfer code

*833# is the transfer code for Polaris Bank.

Dial *833# from your Polaris Bank registered line to transfer funds. To create a Polaris Bank account PIN, Dial *833# from your Polaris Bank registered line and follow the prompts to enter your account number. Enter any 4-digit number to be used as the PIN.

Sterling Bank Transfer code

Sterling Bank’s USSD mobile banking code is *822#. To transfer funds dial *822# and follow the instructions on the screen. It is that simple.

For customers to transfer money from Sterling Bank to other banks, dial *822*5*Amount*Account No#. Meanwhile, from Sterling Bank to the same bank, dial *822*4*Amount*Account No#

Stanbic IBTC Bank Transfer code

The transfer code for Stanbic IBTC bank is *909#. You can transfer money and purchase airtime with that code but you will have to link your e-wallet to your debit card. Then generate a PIN that can be used for transactions.

Standard Chartered Bank Transfer code

For Standard Chartered Bank, to transfer money from one bank to another, the transfer code is *822#. You can also pay bills, buy airtime from your account etc. Dial the code to get started.

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Transfer code

UBA bank mobile transfer code is *919#. To transfer money from one bank to another and buy airtime, dial *919# on your registered phone number. Not only that, but customers can also pay bills, do a cardless withdrawal and do a whole lot of things. To get started, go to the nearest UBA branch and visit customer care to generate a PIN for you or you can dial the code and generate the PIN for yourself.

Unity Bank Transfer code

Unity Bank’s transfer code is a four-digit code, unlike other banks that have a three-digit code. The Unity bank transfer code is *7799#. Transfer money by dialling *7799#. It’s safe and easy to use.

To transfer money from Unity Bank to another bank account, dial *7799*2*Account No*Amount#. Meanwhile to transfer money from Unity Bank to another Unity Bank account, dial *7799*1*Account No*Amount#.

Union Bank Transfer code

As a Union Bank customer, you need to create a transfer PIN to be able to transfer money, simply dial the USSD code, *826*5# from your registered phone number. So to transfer funds from Union Bank to another bank, just dial *826*2*Amount*Account No#, followed by your transfer PIN.

From Union Bank to another Union Bank account, simply dial *826*1*Amount*Account No#. Note that the charge for fund transfer to other banks is N52.50 and it is free to the same bank.

Wema Bank Transfer code

Wema Bank is new to the USSD mobile banking service though they offer a very appealing service to their customers. The transfer code for Wema Bank is *945# and when you dial it, a screen will appear with different options, just enter the corresponding number. For example, to transfer money, dial *945*Account No*Amount# from your registered Wema bank phone number.

Zenith Bank Transfer code

Zenith Bank is one of the leading banks in Nigeria. Zenith’s bank transfer code is *966#. To transfer money from your Zenith Bank account to another, dial *966*Amount*Recipient’s Account Number# and follow the instructions on the screen. The code can also be used to buy airtime and do a whole lot of things.

Note: Transferring funds from one bank to another in Nigeria will attract a fee of 52 Naira. But it’s free if you’re transferring from one bank to the same bank and when you purchase airtime.
