As a GOTV subscriber, you would have probably come across some GOTV errors like E48-32, E30 and E16, errors like that prevent you from watching your favourite channels and TV shows even after you have paid for the GOTV subscription package. In this article, you will learn how to clear error codes on GOTV.

Sometimes, the GOTV error code comes up when the subscriber forgets or maybe refuses to renew the subscription plans before the actual expiration date.

Error E16 is one of the most common GOTV and DSTV errors, and it usually occurs when your subscription expires. If you have an active subscription and you still receive this error, then your decoder may have been switched off while you made the payment, resulting in a delay in the subscription activation. Hence, the error E16. So to clear the E16 error code on your GOTV or DSTV, simply text “RESET IUC NUMBER” to 4688, i.e. RESET (your GOTV IUC number) to 4688.

Your IUC number is the number on the red or white sticker under your cable box or decoder.

What Causes GOTV Error E48-32

The cause of the GOTV E48-32 error is a result of bad weather or a faulty connection in the installation or when you change the position of the antenna of the decoder. You only need to exercise patience for the signal to return if the E48-32 error occurs due to the weather conditions. However, if the error appears and it doesn’t seem to be because of the weather condition, here is what you should do to fix the error E48-32;

How to Clear E48-32 Error on GOTV

  1. Ensure the GOtv antenna is properly connected to the decoder;
  2. Tap on the OK button to see signal information;
  3. Go to Menu>Advanced>Installation – click on Auto scan;
  4. If it isn’t a general GOTV error, channels 48 and 52 will show up;
  5. You should see Channel 99 when the scan completes. If it doesn’t come up, you need to do a rescan to have access to all channels you paid for.

What Causes Error E30 on GOTV

GOTV Error E30 occurs when your GOTV decoder has been turned off or when there hasn’t been a signal for a long period of time. The error most commonly affects decoders with unfixed E48-32 errors.

How to fix Error E30 on GOTV

  1. Ensure you have fully paid for your subscription;
  2. Switch on the GOTV decoder;
  3. SMS “Reset (your IUC number)” to 4688 to clear the error message.

  4. Now, solve the captcha code
  5. Click on Clear Error.

I don’t know if it’s an error issue but my GOcoda3 keeps on showing E-161-0 on all channels except for channel 1
