YouTube is a video sharing service created in February 2005 by former employees of the payment system PayPal. It was founded with a capital of $11.5 million, initially based on the top floor of a Japanese restaurant. The first video was uploaded on April 23, 2005 and the service was officially launched in November of the same year. In November 2006 it was controlled by Google in a $1.65 billion deal. In April 2012 it was considered the third most visited site in the world, according to Alexa.
