Have you ever tried sending an SMS on your phone and after waiting for some minutes to ensure the message is successfully sent, you get an error message indicating that your message was not sent?
In this article, you will find the message centre numbers of all networks in Nigeria and how to edit any of them to receive text messages from any subscriber.
What is Message Centre Number
The message centre number is responsible for receiving, storing, routing and forwarding SMS messages to your network service provider. It is also referred to as a short message service centre (SMSC).
Most people use SMS as an alternative to delivering important messages especially when they try to reach a person through phone calls and the number is neither available nor reachable.
SMS stands for Short Message Service and is the most widely used type of text messaging.
With an SMS, you can send a message of up to 160 characters to your friend or family for a cost of N4 Naira from your airtime balance but you know what? If it were to be a phone call, your network service provider might probably deduct up to N50 worth of airtime to say those words those 160 characters in words.
However, it is now easy to communicate and send messages via social media and your mobile data. Even though social media is widely used by billions of people around the world, SMS would still retain its portion of the market.
