Infinix has launched its latest phones in the higher economic category, the Note 8, the Infinix Note 8i, to be the cheaper version of the regular Infinix Note 8.
It comes with a smaller screen with a different back design, with fewer cameras, with normal sound, no stereo, and less RAM.
But here the hole became smaller due to the arrival of the smartphone with only one front camera.
In this article, we will get to know the rest of the specifications of the Infinix Note 8i in details, and whether is it worth buying or not.
Infinix Note 8i Design
The screen design is in the form of a hole, which is similar to many phones in the upper middle classes, but slightly larger, and the company calls it the Infinity O.
The IPS LCD screen is 6.78 inches, HD + quality, with a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels, the density of pixels is 264 pixels per inch, slightly smaller than the Infinix Note 8 screen, thus the pixel distribution is more high.
The Infinix Note 8i has a Corning Gorilla Glass support to protect the phone from scratching.
Introduced with new 20.5: 9 aspect ratio to display more content while watching videos or playing games. You can cancel the control buttons to use the largest possible area of the screen.
Security
It supports two types of security, the first is the fingerprint and it comes built into the power button and offers very satisfactory performance in that price category, accurate and has no problems and its speed is acceptable.
The second type of security– Face ID. Its speed is very acceptable and provides good performance, but it is not safe enough.
The Infinix Note 8i comes with the latest Android systems so far, Android 10 and the latest operating interface from Infinix XOS 7.1 and contains a lot of features.
Storage and RAM
Infinix Note 8i comes with a 128 GB internal memory, and you can expand the storage space through a memory card in a separate port up to 512 GB. It also comes with a 4 GB RAM. It works with a MediaTek Helio G80 processor with 12 nano manufacturing technology with a Mali-G52 MC2 graphic processor. The same processor used in phones like the Xiaomi Redmi 9 and Realme 6i.
The Transsion holdings company has officially announced that this processor is 14% more powerful than the previous generation Note 7, and the processor supports the Hyper Engine feature to provide the best possible performance during gaming.
This also applies to the higher version of it as well and offers almost the same graphical performance as well as performance in basic tasks. This makes the mobile phone excellent for daily use, both for the basic tasks of calls, watching content on YouTube, and moving between social media applications and light games.
The graphic performance offers excellent performance in that price category and is the strongest choice in this price category, even better than Xiaomi’s Redmi 8 phone.
The new Infinix Note 8i smartphone works well while playing games like PUBG and Call of Duty on high settings and in HD without any lag or any errors.
Infinix Note 8i Camera
The first basic camera of the Infinix Note 8i is 48 megapixels. The company has not specified the aperture. The second is for close-up photography (Macro) with a resolution of 2 megapixels, The third camera of the Infinix Note 8i comes with a 2 mega pixel resolution. The company did not specify its function even with the official announcement, but it is for the AI Low Light for shooting in poor lighting.
The fourth camera comes with a 2-megapixel camera, in addition to a quad-LED rear flash. The basic cameras in strong lighting offer acceptable performance in that price category, although they are not the best because they offer a great amount of detail, and this is due to the great accuracy that the phone comes with. The colors of the images are good, their depth is good, their saturation is good to the eye, not cosmetically saturated, the light distribution of the images is acceptable, and there are not many dark spots in the images.
Isolation is also good, so limiting is acceptable and it does not cause many problems. The Macro camera offers good performance and contains good details, but not many because it is only 2 mega pixels. The actual performance of the cameras is very close to the Infinix Note 8, but their details are significantly reduced, but in general the cameras perform well in poor lighting. Support for night photography also makes all of this excellent pictures, and makes them well illuminated.
The front camera of the Infinix Note 8i is 8 megapixels. The predecessor camera has good performance, the skin color and also the insulation in the cameras is good because it works through the system only and the camera resolution may be less than the higher version. But you will not notice large differences in the strong lights because the cameras are very close, but the difference is in the weak lights.
The Camera supports shooting videos in 2K quality with a resolution of 1440 pixels at a capture rate of 30 frames per second and also supports shooting in quality of FHD at 1080 pixels at a capture rate of 30 frames per second. Infinix has announced video stabilization to the highest possible level through Super Stable Videos with Vidhance Stabilization technology to prevent video shake better than before.
Other Features
The Infinix Note 8i comes with a triple chip tray, so you can use the external memory card with two SIM cards at the same time. The smartphone provides an excellent audio experience, as the phone is stereo sound, which is the surround of the external speaker and the speakerphone works as an additional speaker, the sound of the call headphone is good and loud. It supports the 3.5 headphone port and also supports most other sensors such as acceleration, proximity, and compass, and supports virtual reality glasses via the gyroscope sensor.
Battery
The Infinix Note 8i comes with a battery capacity of 5200 mAh, which is a huge capacity in that price category, which provides excellent performance and lasts for up to two days. It is possible to increase this in a single charge only if your use is medium or light. The battery will give you the ability to operate the screen for up to 13 continuous hours. The USB port of the Infinix Note 8i comes from Type C second generation.
The supplied 18-watt charger is true that it is not the fastest in that price category, but it is also a good charger and you can charge that battery in more than three and a half hours only.
