Did you delete an email permanently from your Gmail? Don’t worry, you can retrieve your deleted emails from Gmail servers if it has not been up to 30 days.

Many times when you go through your inbox to sort out or reply to important emails, you might accidentally hit the wrong button and delete and in a matter of seconds, that long thread of email is all gone.

This could be annoying but thankfully you can recover all of your deleted emails especially if you use Gmail. Gmail allows you to retrieve your deleted emails from trash if has not been up to 30 days and even after it has been deleted from trash forever, you can still retrieve all of them.

It also applies to emails that are intentionally deleted and you wish to retrieve them.

Google is very much aware that mistakes are bound to happen and you might eventually get to discover that an email is more important than you thought after deleting it, so Gmail has a separate folder named Trash. All the emails that you have deleted within 30 days will be sent to the trash folder. To retrieve your deleted email from the trash,

  • Open the Gmail app on your phone
  • Tap the menu at the top left corner
  • Scroll down and click on Trash
  • Click and open the message you want to retrieve
  • Tap the three dots at the top right corner
  • Click move to and select the folder you want to restore the email to

But these deleted emails can only be recovered within 30 days or you would have to dig a little deeper to recover them because Gmail automatically deletes emails from the Trash folder 30 days after.

Other cases could be due to technical issues from Google, you may lose an email or more from your Gmail inbox folder.

In cases like the above-mentioned, you would have to fill out and send a request form to the Gmail support team.

After submitting the form, you’ll receive an email from mail-support@google.com confirming whether the deleted emails were successfully retrieved or not.

Note that it might take some time for Google to retrieve all the deleted emails to your inbox.
