How to reset your Apple TV

The process for resetting and redeeming an Apple TV is similar on all models, with only a few differences in the names of the options. In general, the user needs to access the settings and select the corresponding option and once done, the set-top-box will return to the original factory configuration.

There are two ways to reset an Apple TV: just restore it, erase all usage data, or reset and update, which erases everything and installs all available updates. In the second case, the device must be connected to the internet.
