Disney Plus has arrived and is available on several devices, through dedicated apps for mobile phones, tablets, set-top boxes and video game consoles, but can also be accessed by the browser on computers. However, not every browser or system works with the service. Here are the browsers that support Disney Plus.
Disney Plus compatible browsers
Disney Plus can be accessed through the website disneyplus.com browsers on the computer, but there are some limitations. For example, there are a specific number of supported browsers per supported operating system, while the others cannot run it.
Windows
Windows users can access Disney Plus through the following browsers:
- Google Chrome: from version 75, in Windows 7 and later;
- Microsoft Edge: all versions, in Windows 10 and later;
- Mozilla Firefox: from version 68, in Windows 7 and later;
- Microsoft Internet Explorer: starting with version 11, in Windows 8.1 and later.
Any other Windows browser is not compatible with Disney Plus, and the service will not work.
Apple Mac
Apple’s Mac-only operating system has fewer Disney Plus compatible browsers. Let’s know which ones:
- Apple Safari: from version 11, macOS Sierra and later;
- Google Chrome: from version 75, in OS X 10.10 Yosemite and later;
- Mozilla Firefox: from version 68, in OS X 10.9 Mavericks and later versions.
As with Windows, other browsers for Macs can’t run Disney Plus.
Chrome OS
Google’s Chromebook-facing OS is the one with the least browser options that support Disney’s streaming service, unsurprisingly:
- Google Chrome: from Chrome OS 79 and later.
Other limitations
Disney Plus cannot run in the following situations:
- Mobile browsers: The service does not open on mobile or tablet browsers. The user must install the app for iOS (apps.apple.com) and Android (play.google.com);
- TV browsers, set-top boxes and video game consoles: They don’t open the service either. The user must use the Disney Plus app dedicated to the corresponding gadget;
- Linux: Distributions that use the Linux kernel are incompatible with Disney Plus, which does not run in any browser;
- Android forks: Systems like LineageOS and the like can’t install the Disney Plus app distributed through the Google Play Store, as is already the case with Netflix.
In the case of Linux, there is no prediction of when (or if) Disney Plus support will be released. Therefore, both in this case and in Android forked phones and tablets, the user must use another device to access Mickey’s home streaming service.

I’m using Linux, and would buy Disney+ but instead I now pirate the films. Because ChromeOS, based on Gentoo Linux, allows Disney+, this is ridiculous situation.
