1. Amazon Kindle (formerly Comixology)

ComiXology belongs to Amazon and is an app to read comic books and manga and very versatile and one of the most used today. Its library has hundreds of titles, from the most varied publishers, available for purchase and also free editions. Before it was possible to buy directly through the app, but now it is only possible through the website and then download the comic through the app on your tablet or smartphone.

3. Dark Horse
Dark Horse publisher has its own app and store to buy and read comics on Android practically identical to those of Marvel and DC. What differentiates it from these 2 is that it has a larger catalog of free digital comic books in several languages (although Spanish is still very little present). For Android, Astonishing Comic Reader is a good free option with support for DRM-Free comics in CBR, CBZ and PDF formats. 11. CDisplayEx
I discovered this application in its version for Windows, and it is one of the first tools that came on the market specially designed for reading comics, manga and comics in general (I knew it when I was studying at university back in 2000 and I still keep coming back to her recurrently). Easy to use, intuitive and free.
12. Tappytoon Comics & Novels
Tappytoon Comics & Novels is a free platform for reading comics of the romantic genre mixed with touches of action and fantasy. Some of its most popular titles include names like Solo Leveling, Dungeon Reset, The Adventures of a Demon King’s Daughter, Light & Shadow or The Abandoned Empress, among others.
The application allows you to read free comics without even logging in, although if we want to have access to more content we will have to log in. It also has a points system that we can buy or get to support artists or unlock new chapters of our favourite webtoons, comics, manhwas or graphic novels.
13. WEBTOON
The big difference between WEBTOON and the rest of the apps that publish comics that also come out on paper is the format. This app only collects comics that were originally intended to be read on a screen, which makes them much easier to digest (fewer panels and speech bubbles per page).
The WEBTOON platform collects more than 7,000 webcomics of various genres, ranging from action to horror, romance, comedy and everything we can think of. The style is also very varied, with American-style webcomics, manga, manhwa or superheroes. The authors are also the best, and we found things as interesting as Sarah’s Scribbles by Sarah Anderson. 14. Tapas – Comics, novels and stories
Another excellent app to read comics and manga from your mobile or tablet screen is Tapas. As these are webcomics, the pages are adapted to mobile format, which makes them much easier to read. There are a lot of light and romantic novels, but it also touches on genres such as horror, fantasy or comedy.
After having given the catalog a good review, I would say that the medium level is a little more amateur than WEBTOON, although it also has titles of great quality. Some of his most popular comics are “They Say I was born a King’s Daughter”, “Silent Horror Z” and “Jack: The American Ghost”.
15. WebComics
As its name suggests, an app to read webcomics on Android. It mainly exploits romantic and BL genre manga, with titles like “Somewhere in Time” or “I was XXX by my idol”. It has more than 500 authors and a loyal base of more than 1 million daily active users.
It is a platform very similar to Tapas and WEBTOON, although I personally believe that the comics that are published are a little below these in terms of variety and quality of drawing – with some noble exceptions. In any case, it is still an excellent source of free comics aimed at a fairly well-defined audience (mainly teenagers).
