Apple has announced the iPhone 16 Special Event for September 9, a Monday, two weeks from now. Although it did not mention what the launches will be on that date, it is known for its tradition of renewing its smartphone lineup every month. Currently, the lineup consists of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Apple’s invitation mentions “It’s Glowtime.” The abstract circles appear to be a reference to Apple Intelligence, an artificial intelligence tool that will be present in iOS 18. It was announced at WWDC 2024.
Apple has abandoned keynotes held directly from the Steve Jobs Theater during the pandemic. The same video is presented to guests on-site at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, United States, and to millions of people around the world, through broadcasts on the official website and on YouTube.
What to expect from the iPhone 16?
Apple’s next release, the iPhone 16, is expected to feature the following features:
- Traditional and Plus models: vertically aligned camera module
- Action button on all models
- 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera
- Finishing in less saturated colours
